Performance. Strength. Character.
Unlike plastic and metal, wood doesn’t build up static charges that make your beard unruly. Additionally, hand-shaped wooden tips gently massage to your mug, stimulating blood flow to promote hair growth. The porous nature of wood absorbs and redistributes oils to maintain a healthy beard. This also develops a unique patina over time, adding even more character to your comb.
Genuine Cuban Mahogany is probably the single most respected, all-time favorite furniture and instrument wood. This unfortunately lead to over-harvesting and massive deforestation. Cuba banned all exports in 1946, and now it is only available through reclamation and occasional hurricane-damaged trees. It is so rare, that "Genuine Mahogany" is now often used for Honduran Mahogany. We use reclaimed base boards ensuring quality and sustainability.
Black Locust is a farmer's fence-post favorite for its durability, strength, and rot resistance. As you can see, it has a strikingly beautiful end grain with exceptional contrast between growth rings. A little-known phenomenon is that it fluoresces under black light.
Beard Care meets Quality Craftmanship.
No mass-production here. The journey from rough-cut lumber to hand-polished comb is made by a single craftsman creating a truly one-of-a-kind piece.
